Tiny Game, Big Calm
Looking for a break? We found a brain game that felt like one—for the whole family.
If you’ve been around our house lately, chances are you’ve seen someone—kid or grown-up—hunched over a tiny plastic game board, brow furrowed, flipping colorful puzzle pieces. That’s IQ Fit, our hands-down favorite from the SmartGames collection.
We discovered SmartGames while relatives were visiting! One afternoon I walked into the kitchen and found our 3-year-old completely absorbed, calmly rotating puzzle pieces with a focus I’d never seen before.
These compact, single-player puzzles are built like toys but work like miniature brain gyms: tactile, sturdy, and sneakily educational. Each game comes with a challenge booklet that ramps up in difficulty, giving just the right balance of success and struggle. They’re screen-free, sound-free, and endlessly satisfying.
Our favorite, IQ Fit, adds a 3D twist: each piece has raised “bubbles” that need to sit perfectly within the contours of the board. It sounds simple—until it’s not. Suddenly you’re deep in spatial reasoning, visual planning, and perseverance... all in a box small enough to fit in your glove compartment.
These days, IQ Fit lives in our backpack. It’s saved us during restaurant waits, early morning wakeups, and long car rides. I’ve even stolen it for a mid-day brain break when I’m feeling screen-fatigued. There’s something deeply grounding about solving a puzzle with your hands—no notifications, no updates, just the quiet satisfaction of figuring something out.
SmartGames has sparked a new kind of play in our house: one that’s creative, calming, and quietly collaborative—even when played solo. It’s the kind of toy that feels good to use, and even better to share.
This is our collection so far:
Have you tried any SmartGames? I’d love to know your favorites.

Santa gifted some SmartGames to my three daughters last year: Three Little Piggies for the three-year-old, Squirrels Go Nuts! for the six-year-old and Jump In' for the eight-year-old. I think they're excellent and very addictive (in a good way). We plan to expand our collection soon!
We love these too, their mini games make great stocking fillers.
